Daniel Lee is a pioneer of digital photographic images redolent of the taxonomically driven work of Audubon and Darwin. With his Origin series, Lee invites us to contemplate our genetic futures and our reptilian past. What impact will technologies like Crispr cas9 visit on us? Over the past two decades, Lee’s work has continued to inspire the imagery of popular culture. Revisiting his work of the turn of the millennium we begin to entertain questions of authenticity, parallel evolution and self-fulfilling prophecy.
